We do this by supporting local businesses and communities, promoting educative visits to conservation projects and ensuring our tours leave the lightest possible footprint on environments and resources.
We also ensure our educational visits include opportunities to understand and explore our values. We are active members of the Ugandan tourism sector and promote Uganda far and wide as a must-see travel destination at the same time challenging some of the negative stereotypes of Africa.
Some examples of our community support include, working with a small community development organisation to help members develop tourism products which provide insights into their lives, work and culture. These enable engagement with tourists and help to generate to additional income.
We have also built staff houses at a village Primary school in our own community. This helps to reduce teacher absenteeism by reducing their transport costs and providing space for crop gardens.
We find our clients love to engage with these projects and our partners in the community also love to engage with visitors and show them some traditional Ugandan hospitality.
